Gil Acevedo, a talented software engineer, and Gina D’Andrea-Penna, a dedicated Neuroscience Ph.D. candidate, found themselves constantly overwhelmed by the demands of their high-pressure careers. Despite their successes, they realized that something was missing in their lives - a sense of balance and well-being.
Through their shared passion for personal development, they discovered the transformative power of strength training and the importance of a balanced lifestyle. They experienced firsthand how integrating physical fitness, nutrition, stress management, and mindset coaching could revolutionize their lives, and they became determined to share their newfound knowledge with others.
Drawing on Gina's expertise in neuroscience and the mind-body connection, as well as Gil's problem-solving skills and drive for efficiency, they developed a comprehensive wellness program tailored to the needs of busy professionals. Their unique approach addresses every aspect of health and fitness, unlocking the full potential of their clients and empowering them to lead happier, healthier lives.
After college I landed a high-paying, high-stress tech position.
And with the endless weekly cycle of looming deadlines and working overtime, there’s one thing that kept me moving forward with confidence, performing at the top of my game, and living for a mission higher than myself.
First, know that, growing up I was bullied by older kids at the trailer park where we lived - so I retreated into a shell. I developed anxiety, feared taking risks, and lived for gaming.
That changed when I suffered a leg injury during a high school track race, which required weight training as rehab.
I couldn’t have asked for a better gift…The challenge and growth - both mentally & physically - that stemmed from strength training improved every area of my life.
I completed high school as valedictorian, and I recall confidently giving the speech… joking and flexing in front of thousands of people.
My body and mindset have continued to grow, as have my energy and motivation, and as a byproduct I’ve achieved all I've set out to do. I then realized that developing my mental and physical health has been the backbone of my success and joy.
This realization prompted my greatest transition from a software engineer to a passionate health and fitness coach, who empowers people through strength training, nutrition, and mindset. With newfound confidence in myself, I could take the leap of faith to walk the path of helping others through health and fitness.

For the longest time I felt stuck.
After dropping 15 lb from Celiac disease, I’d struggled to attain a “normal” weight. As a health-conscious long-distance runner, I followed a good diet and ate a ton. Yet every doctor’s visit was a reminder of my hopeless attempts to budge the scale.
Eventually I ran myself into the ground, as injuries and overtraining took their toll - so I turned to the gym as a sanctuary and place to progress. As I built strength and muscle, my perspective on fitness, health, and life transformed.
It’s amazing what a healthy body can do for your mind.
Lifting enabled me to shift my mindset, to build self-confidence and self-love that I’d lacked for so long. Lifting helped me un-stick myself as I realized the only person preventing my progress was me.
My experience spurred me to delve into neuroscience research supporting such mind-body interactions, leading to a stark realization: modern society is slowly eroding our bodies, minds, and brains with its sedentary lifestyle, ultra-processed food, social media addictions, and chronic stress. However, we can reverse this downward trend through healthier choices.
…So I want to bring my insights to you. Only you can change your actions, attitude, and self. And every choice you make counts.
